The black heron has one of the most clever hunting techniques in the bird world. By spreading its wings forward like an umbrella over the water, it creates a patch of shade that does two things: it cuts the surface glare so the bird can see into the water clearly, and it tricks fish into swimming toward what looks like shelter.

The many faces of the leopard definitely bring about a quiet reverence that our experienced guides still speak about 🐆
We`ve had mornings in the Sabi Sand where a leopard walked alongside the vehicle for twenty unhurried minutes. We`ve also spent three full days in prime leopard territory and caught only a flicker of tail disappearing into the grass. Both are magnificent in their own way.
