Tigers of India
Journey into the wild heart of India on an intimate nine-day photographic safari through Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks. Hosted by specialist photographic guide Marlon du Toit alongside an experienced local naturalist and photographer, this small-group expedition is limited to just six guests.
Spend three full days exploring Bandhavgarh, renowned for its high density of Bengal tigers, before continuing to the sweeping meadows and sal forests of Kanha for a further three full-day safaris. While tigers are the principal focus, the parks are also home to leopards, sloth bears, wild dogs, gaur, barasingha, sambar, chital and abundant birdlife.
Stay at Pugdundee’s Kings Lodge and Kanha Earth Lodge, both offering an authentic connection to their natural surroundings. With only two guests per safari vehicle, generous space for photographic equipment and expert guidance throughout, every element is designed to maximise time in the field and create exceptional photographic opportunities.
Itinerary
Arrival in Delhi and connect to Jabalpur
We will board an early morning flight from Delhi to central India, Jabalpur specifically.
Upon arrival, a team will meet us at the airport for a private transfer to Bandhavgarh National Park, a scenic journey of approximately four to five hours.
We will arrive at the lodge followed by check-in and time to settle into the forest environment.
Bandhavgarh National Park - Three Full-Day Game Drives
The next three days are dedicated to exploring the remarkable forests of Bandhavgarh National Park.
Bandhavgarh offers some of the most dynamic wildlife experiences in India. The park is particularly known for its thriving tiger population and diverse wildlife.
Each day will be spent on full-day safaris, allowing extended time inside the forest to explore deeper areas of the park and observe wildlife behaviour more patiently.
Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed within designated forest rest areas, allowing the safari experience to continue throughout the day.
These extended safaris create opportunities for memorable encounters and deeper immersion in the wilderness.
Bandhavgarh National Park - Three Full-Day Game Drives
After breakfast, depart by road for Kanha National Park, a journey of approximately five to six hours.
The drive passes through rural landscapes and forested regions of central India before reaching Kanha.
We will arrive at the lodge followed by check-in and time to relax.
Bandhavgarh National Park - Three Full-Day Game Drives
The final phase of the expedition unfolds in the magnificent forests of Kanha National Park.
Here, the landscape opens into sweeping grasslands where large herds of deer and antelope graze, often attracting predators such as tigers and wild dogs.
Full-day safaris allow guests to explore different habitats across the park while observing the interactions between species that make this ecosystem so fascinating. Kanha’s serene beauty offers the perfect closing chapter to the journey.
Depart and transfer to Nagpur Airport.
This is our final day, and after breakfast, we will depart by road for Nagpur Airport in time for our flight back to Delhi.
