Explore
southern Serengeti Safari
This destination is arguably the most famous safari region in Africa, and for good reason. The Serengeti is what most people will think of when they think of an actual safari. It has those near-endless grasslands, hungry predators, an abundance of plains game and so much more. There’s so much variety to the Serengeti safari experience and it’s the kind of adventure well suited to both nature lovers and dedicated wildlife photographers.
The safari spans across 2 key areas in the Serengeti – Ndutu Conservation Area and Namiri Plains. You stand a chance of seeing all of the beautiful big cats of Africa on this safari – lion, leopard, cheetah, caracal and serval. The safari is timed to coincide with the birthing period of the great migratory herds of wildebeest and this promises one of nature’s most spectacular encounters.
They estimate that over 400 000 wildebeest calves will be born within in 3 – 4 week period. This abundance of new life is not only essential to the survival of the great herds but also provides the predators of the Serengeti with an incredible food resource, albeit for a limited time period. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the southern reaches of the famous Serengeti region and will ensure you have an incredible photographic experience.

Itinerary
Arrive
Arrive into Kilimanjaro International Airport off your international flight, and overnight in Arusha.
DAY 1Arusha to Ndutu
After breakfast, we will be transferred to Arusha Airport in time for our flight to Ndutu Airstrip. Upon arrival, we’ll be warmly greeted by our local guides and transferred to the camp. We will have time to settle in and enjoy a delicious hot lunch before heading out for our first afternoon game drive in Ndutu. This marks the beginning of your incredible safari adventure.
DAY 2Ndutu Serengeti
We will enjoy 4 full days of safari at Ndutu. Mornings will start early as we leave camp around 6am, well before sunrise. It’s essential to get an early start in Ndutu. Our focus for the first part of every morning will be the predators. Ndutu offers some of Africa’s very best lion, cheetah and general predator viewing. They are out and about and very active during this time of year, as the large wildebeest and zebra herds move into Ndutu. The wildebeest herds will give birth to over 400 000 calves within a short space of time, and this influx creates an opportunity to see action-packed experiences between predator and prey. There’s so much to see in Ndutu and time usually flies by. We’ll take a packed breakfast with us every day, and on most days even have lunch in the field. The action often takes place within the vicinity of the camp itself which means there’ll be an opportunity to pop into camp to freshen upon some days. Each day will see us return to camp at sunset. A warm campfire will be waiting under the starry skies. Enjoy drinks together as we regal in the stories of the day, followed by a delicious dinner and a good night’s rest.
DAY 3 - 6Ndutu to Namiri Plains
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to Nasikia Mobile Camp and set off on an exciting journey to the Eastern Serengeti. Along the way, the breathtaking scenery and incredible wildlife will captivate you as we enjoy game viewing en route. A delicious packed lunch will be enjoyed in a picturesque spot overlooking the vast plains, offering the perfect backdrop for a memorable pause. Keep your cameras ready as we may be lucky enough to witness some thrilling predator activity along the way! By the afternoon, we’ll arrive at Olmara Camp, where you’ll have time to settle in, relax, and review the day’s captures before soaking in the peaceful surroundings. We will unwind at camp and prepare for more adventures ahead.
DAY 7Namiri Plains
We will have 2 full days exploring the region of Namiri Plains in the Eastern Serengeti. These vast plains, dotted with granite outcrops, are a haven for wildlife, particularly predators. Each day will include thrilling game drives and plenty of opportunities to take in the beauty and abundance of this iconic region. We will return to camp each evening for a cozy campfire, delicious meals, and a peaceful night’s rest.
DAY 8-9Depart
Today will be our last day in the wilds of the Serengeti. We’ll have a better idea of flight time a little closer to the day, but you’ll enjoy some more quality safari time on this final day. The Seronera Airstrip is around a 1 hour game drive from our camp. Our flight from Seronera will take us to Kilimanjaro International Airport. This brings your unforgettable safari journey to a close as you connect to your international flight home.
