Itinerary
Arrival in Longyearbyen
Your expedition starts in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. After arriving off your international flight you will be met by a friendly representative and transferred to your hotel in Longyearbyen. You will meet up with Marlon and the rest of your group and enjoy dinner together before your expedition begins.
Expedition cruising
We will have the morning to explore Longyearbyen and will meet up with our local guides for lunch for a briefing on what to expect over the next few days. In the afternoon we will embark M/S Stockholm and sail out through Isfjorden - our Arctic adventure has started! We are now in a part of the world where we are totally dependent on the ice and weather conditions. Our exact itinerary depends on these factors and on the wildlife we encounter.
The daily schedule will be reviewed during dinner and breakfast each day, guiding our focus on wildlife sightings and identifying specific subjects for photography. While the M/S Stockholm provides excellent photo opportunities, our primary goal is to engage in daily Zodiac cruises, with additional opportunities to explore ashore as they arise.
During the cruise there will be times when we travel at sea to get to the next location, but this makes for great time to work on our image catalog, relax in your cabin or capture breathtaking landscape shots of the remarkable scenery that Svalbard is so well known for.
Disembark
Early morning we disembark our expedition ship and begin our journey back home.
Please note that should you wish to arrive earlier, or stay longer, this can be arranged and taken care of by Tanda Afrika.
